Fresh express delivery without refrigerated trucks: reinventing last-mile logistics

Delivering fresh and frozen products without a refrigerated truck? This is the challenge taken up every day by the teams of a major player in national express delivery. Using standard dry vehicles and our CarryTemp PM 146L and GM 360L self-contained isothermal containers, this cold chain professional ensures controlled, reliable… and flexible deliveries.

1. Dry vehicles... with freshness on board

Rounds are carried out using dry vehicles, mainly loaded with standard non-food deliveries. However, these same vehicles also deliver fresh and frozen products, thanks to the integration of CarryTemp isothermal boxes in the loading area.
There’s no need to refrigerate the whole vehicle: only heat-sensitive parcels are kept cold, avoiding any energy wastage.

2. An à la carte cold chain

Each tour is equipped as required:

The choice of model depends on the number of parcels to be delivered. Thanks to their light weight and optimized format, these containers can be easily inserted or removed from the vehicle, enabling agile, scalable logistics.

3. Passive cooling, zero energy, maximum performance

Temperatures are maintained by:

  • N3 eutectic plates to maintain temperatures between 0°C and +4°C,
  • dry ice for frozen flows below -18°C.

These containers operate in passive refrigeration mode, with no mechanical units or power consumption, and with an autonomy of over 10h.

4. Quiet, eco-responsible and electrically compatible

No noise, no emissions, no use of energy resources. CarryTemp containers are compatible with both internal combustion and electric vehicles, and perfectly suited to inner-city or night-time deliveries.

5. A logistics solution that ticks all the boxes

  • Modularity: a single vehicle, several possible temperatures.
  • Flexibility: the number and format of crates can be adapted to suit the tour.
  • Economy: no maintenance costs, no over-equipment.
  • Compliance: ATP, HACCP, full traceability.

6. Word from the field

« One day I have two fresh parcels, the next eight. I choose the right size CarryTemp box and adapt my route. Simple, clean, efficient. It’s cold on demand. »

7. To remember

CarryTemp is the isothermal solution that enables logisticians and express carriers to:

  • Transform any vehicle into a bi-temperature tool,
  • Deliver sensitive products without refrigerating the entire load,
  • Maintain a high level of service without technical constraints.

Our isothermal containers offer a new level of flexibility: slipped into dry vehicles, they can be used to precisely target the volumes to be kept cold, with no extra energy consumption. Thanks to the use of eutectic plates or dry ice, the cold is maintained over time, even in very hot weather.
