The ColisActiv program, set up by the Metropole de Lyon, has reached an important milestone with the delivery of its one millionth parcel by cargo bike in the center of the Presqu’île. The program aims to promote cycling in 17 areas of the metropolis, with the city of Lyon accounting for a third of the operations. The event marking the delivery of the millionth parcel took place at the Couffin-Couffine crèche in the 2nd arrondissement, in the presence of Bruno Bernard, President of the Metropole de Lyon, and other partners. The initiative underlines the importance of urban logistics and the role of cargo bikes in last-mile delivery. To support the development of responsible transport solutions, subsidies have been allocated for the purchase of refrigerated trailers needed to deliver local food products. For this operation, Toutenvélo made the delivery using COLD & CO’s CarryTemp XL9, an isothermal container specially adapted to cyclo-logistics.
